Thalapathy Vijay recently showed up to pay homage to actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth on Thursday evening in Chennai and broke down in tears bowing down at the DMK leader's mortal remains. Now, a viral video of the Leo star has surfaced online where he is mobbed by fans on his way back to the car but what was shocking is a flying slipper came towards him and hit on the head. A random person throws his footwear towards the Tamil megastar and everyone is super shocked by looking at the visuals. Immediately after this incident, the Mersal star doesn't look back (as shown in the video) and a person accompanying him throws back the slipper in the crowd where it came from. As of now, the person responsible for the actions is unknown yet but the matter is being investigated. Social media users have vehemently condemned the recent attack, showcasing overwhelming support for the affected superstar. Concerns about the unruly mob and the safety of celebrities have been widely expressed.
The mortal remains of Vijayakanth, the DMDK president and esteemed actor, were transported to Island Ground, Anna Salai, on Friday morning. The public has been granted the opportunity to bid their final farewells between 6 am and 1 pm at the location.

Chennai mourns the loss of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) founder-leader Vijayakanth, who succumbed to COVID-19 at the age of 71. The late Captain Vijaykanth, who was under ventilator support, is being laid to rest in Chennai today. Numerous personalities gathered to honour his memory, including Rajinikanth, who was among those paying respects at Vijayakanth's funeral on Thursday.
